Do I need experience with street photography?

–No, you do not. Just come with an open mind!

 

What is the focus of the workshop?

–The focus of the workshop is to have you emerge a better and more confident street photographer; and also to have exposure and increased familiarity with new styles and techniques.

 

What kind of shooting will we do?

–We will be doing various street photography modules in different locations. Each segment will allow you to focus on different techniques and have specific objectives to accomplish.

 

How much actual shooting will we do?

–The majority of the workshop will be shooting. It is our belief that only way to improve as a street photographer is to get as much practice and experience as possible. And the best way to accomplish this is through shooting.

 

How do I pay for the workshop?

–Workshop fees can be paid via either direct bank transfer or via Paypal (please contact us for specific payment details).

 

What is included in the workshop fees?

–Two days of instruction and shooting as well as personalized attention and feedback from Mimo and Michael. Workshops in some cities will also have an optional night session for those who are interested. Transportation during the workshop and refreshments will also be included.

Do you offer refunds if I cancel?

–You are eligible for a partial refund if you cancel with sufficient advance notice. Please contact us for further explanation of the terms.

 

How many people will attend each workshop?

–Our workshops will generally have a cap of 20 participants.

 

What is the workshop schedule? What time do we start and finish each day?

–The workshop will consist of two full days (as well as an optional evening/night session on the first day). Please see attached schedule for more specific information.

 

What cultural considerations should I think about?

–Simply respect your surroundings and the people you are photographing. It will be because of them that you have success and enjoyment in street photography. Remember that eye contact and smiles go a long way. If there is anything else you should know about a particular location, Mimo and Michael will provide additional information.

 

Will we get feedback on our work?

–Yes, you will get feedback on your work (both during and after the workshop) from Mimo and Michael. You will also have opportunities to discuss and share work with other workshop participants.

 

What kind of camera(s) and or lense(s) do I need?

–Ideally you will have both a digital SLR as well as a smartphone.

 

Do I need any special equipment?

–No. Just bring the equipment you normally use; remember, that we will have two full days of shooting in various locations, so keep what you carry light if possible.

Please email either Mimo or Michael if you have specific equipment concerns or questions.

 

In addition to my camera equipment, what else do you recommend I bring/pack?

–Please bring the following:

camera

lenses

smartphone

batteries

memory cards

chargers

 

–Other items to consider:

water bottle

sunglasses

extra shirt/sweater/light jacket

compact umbrella

 

What happens if the weather is bad?

–The workshop will be held regardless of the weather (rain,etc.); should the weather be such that we would be prevented from shooting outside, we will make alternate plans accordingly.

 

How should I dress?

–It’s important to dress comfortably and also for the weather. Good walking shoes are a must.
